Clarkson College is currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer. The position of Senior System Engineer provides long range technical planning for Clarkson College systems and networks. The position evaluates, recommends, implements, and maintains, and provides technical support for IT systems and services. The position assumes management and coordination responsibilities for complex IT system projects. This position is in-person and based on our college campus located in Omaha, NE. We will be accepting applications for this position until February 15, 2026.

Job Functions:

Design, install, and configure network, cloud, and computer systems.
Perform troubleshooting for complex system issues.
Design, implement, and enforce methods of system security by applying security best practices to ensure the integrity of institutional data.
Monitor systems and ensure they are operational.
Evaluate current systems and conduct capacity planning studies to plan for growth and continued functionality of systems.
Research, analyze, and test new hardware and software technologies that could further enhance Clarkson College's ability to meet its goals and objectives.
Follow policies, procedures, regulatory requirements and perform other work assignments.

Required Qualifications:

* Associate's degree in computer science or related field required.
* Minimum 5 years of experience of IT system or network administration required.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Minimum 5 years of experience in working with Windows Server, IP networks, Microsoft Remote Desktop/Terminal Services, storage arrays, Palo Alto firewalls, VMware vSphere, and cloud systems preferred.
* Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred.
