Surgery - Critical Care Physician

We require ongoing coverage for one weekend per month throughout the year at a level III trauma center. The position requires that you already possess a license in Arkansas and have a clean NPDB report.

Requirements:

• Patient Encounters Per Shift: 8
• Beds in Department: 40

Certification Requirements:

• ABLS: Yes
• ACLS: Yes
• ATLS: Yes
• BLS: Yes
• PALS: No

Board Certification: Board eligible physicians are required and certification is mandatory.

Licensure:

• Arkansas state licensing is necessary.
• Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) is not applicable.

Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 30 days

• Laparoscopic Surgery

• Chest Tube Insertion: Required

• Central Line Insertion: Required
• PA Catheter Placement: Required

Preferred Procedures:

• Breast surgery
• GI endoscopy (Upper and Lower)
• Sigmoidoscopy
• Colonoscopy

• Pediatric Surgery Specific Procedures
• Head/neck surgery
• Chest wall/pleural procedures
• Obstetric & gynecologic surgery

• Minor Orthopedics

Additional Information:

The facility operates at a trauma level 3 and has a pediatric level 2 designation. The successful candidate will have a strong background in general surgery and be capable of working with minimal supervision.
