Position Overview:

WellSpan Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Open Heart Intensive Care Unit (OHICU). This is a 10-bed ICU that provides advanced care for critically ill and postoperative cardiothoracic, cardiovascular, and general surgery patients aged 18 and above.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage care for patients post-open heart surgery
Perform invasive hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
Monitor and respond to arrhythmias
Provide advanced cardiac life support (ACLS)
Manage temporary/permanent pacemakers and ICDs
Care for patients with intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), CRRT, VADs, and ECMO
Monitor and document care using EPIC EHR system
Ensure patient safety while floating to other ICU or med-surg units as needed
Provide care to COVID-positive patients if required

Minimum Requirements:

Experience: Minimum of 2 years ICU experience
Certifications Required:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
EMR Experience: Must have recent EPIC charting experience
